Pre & Post Instructions

Swelling is normal for all procedures. Apply ice or Frozen Chamomile Tea Bags once every 20 minutes for an hour. Dry skin, itching and/or tenderness to the treated area is normal! These symptoms will dissipate and vary on an individual basis. Color will fade and may become blotchy within the first few weeks. The color will fully develop in 4-6 weeks. You are welcome to take Benadryl when you get home. If you take a Benadryl or other relaxant prior to procedure, you must have a ride home. This may impair your driving.

General Rules for ALL procedures:

-A light sheen of AQUAPHOR or EMU OIL (protective ointment) will be applied to serve as a barrier to prevent bacteria from coming into direct contact with open wound - AND - to prevent the tissue from drying out. Never let the treated areas get dry! (but don't over-saturate) just a light veil should do!
You should purchase a new tube of aquaphor to use during the healing process.
If you plan to wear makeup before healing is complete, buy new cosmetics with disposable applicators to avoid introducing bacteria to the wound.
No sun or tanning prior to procedure!!
Avoid direct shower water on treated area after procedure, but instead let the water hit the back part of your head allowing water to roll onto your face. Remember, you should have your ointment on, which will protect your procedure.
Do not take aspirin, niacin, vitamin E, and/or ibuprofen unless medically needed 48 hours prior to procedure.
Avoid alcohol or caffeine prior to procedure.
Getting a procedure while on your period can make you hyper-sensitive.
Avoid extreme exercise prior to and directly after procedure! No sweating!
No swimming pools until healed.
Please allow time for all procedure(s) to heal before going on vacation or any special event(s).
Only touch the treated areas with squeaky clean hands or q-tips. This is a must!
No creams, cleansers or makeup on the procedure for the next 5 to 7 days. You can still wash your face or apply make up, just NOT on the actual procedure.
DO NOT RUB, SCRATCH OR PICK AT THE TREATED AREA. Let any residual pigment come off naturally.
DO NOT PANIC! Your procedure will fade 40% for brows and eyes and 60% to 70% on lips. It will take 5 to 7 days for your procedure to heal and look natural.

Do not wear contact lenses to your appointment, bring your glasses.
Clean contacts can be worn 72 hours after the procedure.
use over the counter eye wash, or wetting drops and any prescription eye medications after eyeliner procedure.
Do not use eyelash growing serums after eyeliner.
Makeup can be worn 72 hours after the procedure.
Buy a new tube of mascara to use after procedure.
Do not use makeup, cleansers or wash your eyes, mineral oil or heavy creams, especially glycolic.
If you have dry or sensitive eyes, there is a slight chance that you may get pink eye, if this occurs, consult with your Doctor for a prescription.
Do not get used to the "Dark/Thick Look", your color will fade 40% and you will lose a line, making it look thinner.
Only use the after-care ointment. A small amount all day to keep moist.
If there you wish to have your eyeliner thicker, darker, or longer, a follow up visit is needed after 30 to 45 days.

If you get your eyebrows waxed or tinted, have this done at least 72 hours prior to the procedure and wait 2 weeks after to continue.
Regular makeup can be worn 72 hours after the procedure.
If there are any blank areas of pigment, this is normal and can be corrected on a follow up visit in 30 to 45 days.

I no longer perform lip procedures. This is a personal choice. I feel it is difficult to get good, even, long lasting color to stay in the tissue of the lip. Lip tissue is different than skin on your face and absorbs color differently. I will be happy to discuss this with you further personally if you questions. I am sure there are artists that perform these procedures well with good results, it is my personal choice not to do them, not an industry standard.

There are procedures that I will not do, like lip color and thick "winged" eyeliner. Permanent makeup is meant to enhance your looks, but it is best done naturally so the colors can be adjusted and it looks good for years to come.
Trendy is NOT good with permanent makeup. What you want now may NOT be what you want in 10 years, so keep it natural but strong enough to make a difference.
